Outline: team red in consortium with the Nicaraguan firm PROCAD, will develop this Transport Study tendered by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Nicaragua and financed by the Inter-American Development Bank.

The study includes the preparation of a traffic forecast model based on household surveys, which will be conducted in this project. Based on the demand and supply analysis the project will result in proposals for improving the bus public transport services on the Managua, Masaya and Granada corridor. Possible measures will be subject to a Cost Benefit Analysis.

Client: Royal HaskoningDHV

Project description: team red was contracted by the Dutch company Royal HaskoningDHV to deliver a full overview of practices and experiences in bicycle traffic counting in Germany and Denmark. The results were used for a study in the province of Antwerpen (Belgium) in order to develop a method for monitoring bicycle traffic in the context of the bicycle promotion program of the province.
The inventory was comprehensive: data were collected by means of different types of surveys, such as household surveys, as well as using electronic devices for bicycle counting, and then processed.
